Role
Liam O'Brien is a 6'1", 215-pound center from Halifax who went undrafted and has worked his way into a long NHL career. He played 75 games for Arizona in 2023-24, then spent the last two years in Utah. Last season he had 3 goals and 1 assist in 38 games, with 43 penalty minutes and a minus-6 rating on 35 shots.
According to the NHL API he hasn't appeared in a game this season. We couldn't find a source explaining why, so we won't guess.
Outlook
Our take: O'Brien is an energy player, and his stat line tells you that. He gives the bench a physical option when someone is hurt or the lineup needs more grit. With Stenlund and McBain handling the checking-center jobs, he won't push for more than a spot-duty role.
